Andoni Iraola has been in Liverpool to sign his contract and the club have contacted RB Leipzig over a transfer for Yan Diomande.
Liverpool make contact for Yan Diomande
We have known for a while now that Liverpool are interested in signing RB Leipzig’s Diomande, and the Reds have now taken a step closer to making the move happen.
The Athletic‘s David Ornstein reports that “Liverpool have made contact with RB Leipzig as they step up their pursuit.”
Paris Saint-Germain are also reportedly interested, with the 19-year-old speaking highly of both clubs recently, but the Ornstein said that Liverpool are “in the strongest position” at present.

Given the interest in the talented Cote d’Ivoire forward, and the fact he has only been at Leipzig for a year, the German club are insisting he is not leaving this summer.
Ornstein added: “Leipzig have consistently stressed that the 19-year-old is not for sale and that it would take a bid in excess of €130million (£112.4m) to change that stance.”
Diomande’s current contract runs until 2030, so Leipzig hold the cards at the moment.

Alexander Isak‘s first season at Liverpool was a huge disappointment for a variety of reasons. However, a fresh start and pre-season could see him reignite his career, writes Danny Gallagher:
“Minor opponents nullified Slot’s football with low-block deadlocks, while the supposed more able sides focused on set-piece marginal gains and smash-and-grab winners.
“The overall end product for Isak was nothing short of terrible.
“The £125 million man quickly became an isolated figure during his Liverpool outings. While desperately searching to rediscover top level fitness, Isak found himself hardly passed to by his new teammmates.”

It was on June 4, 2015 that we got the news James Milner had agreed to sign for Liverpool on a free transfer at the expiration of his Man City contract.
At the time, his acquisition was viewed as a good move but not one that would drastically improve the team.
In the end, he was likely far more important than any us imagined or still understand today. His name is constantly mentioned when referring to the importance of the culture to create Jurgen Klopp‘s great team.
Three days ago, Milner finally announced his retirement from playing at the age of 40.
