CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - The Browns did about as well as they could in the “shocking” Myles Garrett trade, longtime NFL agent Leigh Steinberg told 19 News.
Steinberg, an agent since 1975 who’s based in California, is a big fan of Jared Verse and also said the Browns are now well-positioned with draft capital to search for their franchise quarterback.
“They had a player who they thought was problematic,” Steinberg said. “They had Garrett and they didn’t win.”
Rams are inheriting Garrett's contract with low cap hits for 3 years and a functional APY of ~$33m for 3 years - very possibly the last 3 elite years he has left.
That's like 8th in EDGE APY, some ~15m/y under market now.
Contract wise, Garrett is a bargain for the Rams.

Steelers Nation, can you believe it? Myles Garrett is OUT of the AFC North. McCarthy's reaction? "I'm all for it." 4 words, but so much truth. Huge win for the Steelers offense. Life just got easier, right? #Steelers #NFL pic.twitter.com/rMCQJcyc4C
