The Detroit Lions’ wide receiver room took a slight hit after Kendrick Law suffered an ACL tear during a non-contact drill in OTAs this week. The fifth-round pick was poised to compete for a roster spot and the primary punt return role in his rookie season. Law’s injury leaves Cedrick Wilson Jr., Greg Dortch, Tom Kennedy, Dominic Lovett, Jackson Meeks, and Malik Cunningham competing for the final two to four spots on the 53-man roster. Wilson had five receptions in 2025, while Dortch had 29, Kennedy had four, and Lovett, Meeks, and Cunningham had zero.

Delaware receiver Kyre Duplessis (19) makes a reception in front of UConn’s Osiris Gilbert in the third quarter of Delaware’s 44-41 overtime win at Delaware Stadium, Sept. 13, 2025.
According to Kevin Hilss, the Lions have signed former Coastal Carolina and Delaware wide receiver Kyre Duplessis to a three-year, undrafted free agent contract. He remained unsigned through the first two weeks of organized team activities. Duplessis will compete for a spot on the 53-man roster and could secure a place if he outperforms the experienced veterans and fellow young receivers.
