There are many Green Bay Packers fans who have questioned general manager’s Brian Gutkeunst decisions over the years. Some of his drafting philosophies have been questionable. He has also made some questionable trades and signings as well.

One of the things that Green Bay decided to sign wide receiver Christian Watson to a four-year deal worth $110.5 million, and he is also going to get a $31 million signing bonus. This is a massive overpay for a player that has been injury prone throughout his career. Watson is 27 years old. He hasn’t had a season where he has gone over 1,000 yards in his NFL career. Watson will be entering his fifth NFL season in 2026. He was a second-round selection from the North Dakota State Bison in the 2022 NFL Draft.

There are a lot of Green Bay fans who continue to voice their displeasure about Gutekunst being the general manager of this football team. They think that signing Watson to that major contract extension is a fire able offense. This is what some Packers fans had to say about this on Twitter:

No surprise the #Packers extended Watson, and even less of a surprise that it’s a ridiculous overpay. Sure, he’s very talented, but his career high in catches is 41, and yards is 620.

There is no doubt that other Packers fans are cursing out at Gutekunst for the contract he gave Watson here. He also gave wide receiver Jayden Reed a contract extension. It would have been more practical to give Romeo Doubs a new contract rather than Watson. Tucker Kraft, the star tight end for Green Bay is next in line for a new contract.
