There is reportedly an expectation that the Dallas Mavericks could explore candidates from both the European game and women’s basketball in their search for a new head coach.
The Dallas Mavericks are continuing their search for a new head coach, and some interesting options could emerge during the process.
According to The Stein Line, new Mavericks president Masai Ujiri could explore candidates from both the European game and women's basketball as he searches for Jason Kidd's replacement.
"There is also an expectation in league coaching circles that Ujiri, as he did after the 2022-23 season when he fired Nick Nurse and ultimately replaced Nurse with Darko Rajaković, could well opt to explore his options in both the European and women's game in a search he is conducting alongside new Mavericks general manager Mike Schmitz," The Stein Line reported.
Per the same report, potential NBA-based candidates for the Mavericks job include Minnesota's Micah Nori, Golden State's Terry Stotts, Houston's Royal Ivey, Toronto's Jama Mahlalela, Boston's Tony Dobbins and Miami consultant Noah LaRoche.
