Breaking: Steelers Sign Pass Catcher Who Spent 5 Years With Aaron Rodgers (Report)

The Pittsburgh Steelers found out in the middle of May that Aaron Rodgers would be back for another year. The future hall of fame quarterback made it clear that this would be his last year in the league (even though he’s implied that before).

Now, the team has brought back a familiar face for Rodgers during his twilight tour.

Steelers Sign Pass Catcher Who Played With Aaron Rodgers For Years

The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed tight end Robert Tonyan to a four-year $42 million dollar contract extension directly signing Darnell Washington to a contract extension. ESPN’s Brooke Pryor reports that Aaron Rodgers’ former teammate has signed the one-year deal with the Steelers after a minicamp tryout earlier this week. A total of five players were brought in for a tryout by the Steelers this week, including Tonyan.

He spent the first five years of his career with the Green Bay Packers, including an 11-touchdown campaign in 2020. Over the course of his career, Tonyan has also played for the Bears, Chiefs, and Vikings.
