How Travis, Jason Kelce Reacted To Patriots' A.J. Brown Trade

The Kelce brothers joined the NFL world in breaking down a blockbuster A.J. Brown trade.

The New England Patriots concluded a long offseason saga by acquiring Brown from the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday. Brown will seek a return to elite form after registering 1,003 yards last season.

Jason and Travis Kelce discussed the trade on their latest "New Heights" podcast. The older sibling was expecting his former team to move the disgruntled wide receiver, who had publicly expressed disappointment with Philadelphia's underachieving offense.

"At the end of the day, it was not a surprise," Jason said. "I think A.J., very clearly, made it known that he's been frustrated the last few years. From everything coming out, it sounds like he wanted and was excited to move on, and I think it was in everyone's best interest."

Travis concurred when Jason noted that Brown was about to enter a nice situation. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end praised his AFC competitor, who got more dangerous after adding a prolific playmaker.

"Oh, he's going to be just fine over there in New England," Travis predicted. "He's got Drake Maye throwing him the football. He's got a great offensive coordinator. Obviously a great head coach. They just got back from playing in the Super Bowl. That New England team was already really good. Now they just got arguably one of the best receivers in the league."

Jason believes Brown will prove that he has plenty left in the tank during his eighth NFL season. The ESPN analyst forecast a strong season for his former Eagles teammate.

"Here's the reality: A.J. Brown was not the reason the Eagles' offense was not successful last year. He's a very good football player," Jason said. "I don't want to hear all this, 'Has he lost a step?' We're gonna find out this year. I think he's gonna have a really good year."
