NBA rumors: Heat the Giannis Antetokounmpo trade favorite with Bucks finally ready to pull trigger

The Giannis Antetokounmpo sweepstakes seems to be heating up now, as several teams are ready to put everything on the table to acquire the two-time MVP. The one team that is claimed to be the favorite for Antetokounmpo so far is the Miami Heat, and they're ready to pull the trade, according to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.

“Sources: Giannis Antetokounmpo’s tenure with the Bucks appears to be coming to an end, with multiple league personnel tellingClutchPoints that Bucks ownership is ready to trade the two-time MVP,” Siegel wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

“Who’s the No.1 team? Everyone around the league expects it to be the Heat… It seems like Miami has put everything out there except Bam Adebayo,” Siegel said on Clutch Scoops.

The Heat were interested in Antetokounmpo at the trade deadline, but the Bucks didn't want to move on from him at that time. Now, it's obvious that they're ready to move on, and the Heat could have the right trade package to get a deal done.

For some time, rumors have said that Tyler Herro, Kel'el Ware, Jaime Jacquez Jr. and some draft picks were what the Heat offered, and it aligns with what the Bucks are apparently asking for.

“There is expected to be a robust market for Antetokounmpo, and ownership and front-office officials expect to maintain their trade deadline asking price of a young blue-chip talent and/or a surplus of draft picks, sources said,” ESPN's Shams Charania wrote weeks ago.

At the same time, the Bucks could probably get a better package from another team looking to acquire Antetokounmpo. For the Heat, they'd be gutting most of their team by trading for Antetokounmpo, but it looks like something they're willing to do, and they can figure everything else out once the deal is done.
