The Oklahoma City Thunder are looking to retool this offseason after a tough Game 7 loss at home to the San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference Finals. The good news for the Thunder is that they have plenty of assets at their disposal, including two picks in the upcoming 2026 NBA Draft.
Recently, ClutchPoints NBA insider Brett Siegel detailed how Sam Presti and company are looking to potentially move up even higher in the draft.
“The Oklahoma City Thunder are a team that is actively trying to move up into the top ten of this draft. There are rumors about them targeting Cam Boozer. That won't happen unless they move up into the top four,” he said, per ClutchPoints on X, formerly Twitter.
Siegel mentioned Tennessee freshman Nate Ament as a potential replacement for Lu Dort if the Thunder were to move up in the draft.

However, it's not just the Thunder who are interested in moving up.
“We have also heard the Chicago Bulls have been looking to move up and get a second top-ten pick. We have also heard that the Charlotte Hornets are a team that would consider it with their two first-round picks as well,” he said.
The NBA saw a historic amount of tanking this year for what many expect will be a loaded 2026 NBA Draft class. As Siegel noted, the Bulls already have one pick, earning the fourth overall selection at the recent lottery, and the Hornets have some significant assets they could use to try to move up and add another premium talent to their intriguing roster.
In any case, the NBA Draft is slated to get underway on June 23.
