Micah Nori revealed that there is no existing conversation yet between him and the Mavericks amid the team's rumored interest in hiring him as their next head coach.
As the Dallas Mavericks' search for a new head coach continues, Micah Nori made it clear that he still has no clear contact yet about the opportunity with the franchise.
The Minnesota Timberwolves assistant dropped the revelation in an appearance on SiriusXM NBA Radio.
“I mean, I haven’t heard anything really from Dallas,” Nori said, per Dallas Hoops Journal.
Nori stands as one of the most prominent candidates in the market, who also drew significant considerations in Portland Trail Blazers and the Chicago Bulls.
Serving as an assistant under Chris Finch, Nori helped the Timberwolves become one of the top defensive teams in the NBA.
New team president Masai Ujiri and the Mavs remain in the hunt for their new head coach following Jason Kidd's unforeseen dismissal last month.
“Conversations are very early stages,” Nori said. “Again, nothing from Dallas really. They’re just beginning their search. A few conversations here and there with Portland and Chicago. But nothing too serious yet. And hopefully, as they ramp up, maybe they do get a little bit more involved.”
