Both games will be played at Madison Square Garden on Monday and Wednesday, respectively, as the Knicks already took an early 1-0 series lead heading to Friday's Game 2 in San Antonio.
"Well, I've been a Knicks fan for a long time and I'm also a Jim Dolan fan," Trump told reporters. "He's a nice guy. He's been wanting to win for a long time and he's a competitive guy, and he's got a team that's amazing. I don't think they've lost a playoff game. Can you imagine that?
"I saw the beginning of [Game 1] and it wasn't looking good. I missed the middle because I talked to generals all night long now. But I watched that end of the game and they were dominant. Really amazing."
Earlier reports broke out that Trump will attend Game 3 once the series shifts to New York.
A New York native and Knicks fan, Trump’s expected appearance would make him the first sitting U.S. president since Barack Obama in 2015 to attend an NBA game in person. It would also add to his history of frequent sports event appearances since taking office.
As such, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver is already welcoming Trump's in-person appearance to watch the Finals.
While he clearly supports the Knicks to win the series, Trump still expressed intrigue about the talent of Spurs superstar Victor Wembanyama on the other side.
"Wemby is a great player," Trump said. "He's going to be a great player, and he is already a great player. I say, 'How do you guard this guy?' 7-foot-5 and he's got a great shot, right? But they find a way to do it.
"They're really great. They're a great team. And I'm happy for Jim because Jim has really been fighting hard to produce such a team."
