The Oscar-nominated actor has been supporting the Knicks since he was a kid, and now that the New York team is on the brink of earning another championship, Chalamet has been there throughout their playoff run. He attended several games at Madison Square Garden during the playoffs and even skipped the Met Gala while his girlfriend Kylie Jenner attended to be courtside during Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. His fandom doesn't stop at MSG. Chalamet was in the building for Cleveland Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals at Rocket Arena. Most recently, he traveled to San Antonio for Game 1 of the NBA Finals for the Knicks to face the San Antonio Spurs.
In Game 1 of the NBA Finals the Knicks beat the Spurs 105-95. Jalen Brunson suffered two minor injury scares during Game 1. In the first quarter, he appeared to be in pain in his right knee after Spurs wing Harrison Barnes fell into Brunson's knee at an odd angle. In the second quarter, he then appeared to sustain an apparent left ankle injury. He was briefly on the bench following those injury scares but he continued to play and ended up finishing with 30 points.
“Jalen was the MVP in the second half. He was huge for us. He did what MVP candidates are supposed to do. He carried us home. We put the ball in his hands and he got it done for us down the stretch,” Knicks coach Mike Brown said about Brunson postgame per Yahoo Sports.
The Knicks will take on the Spurs in Game 2 of the NBA Finals on Friday, June 5 at 8:30 pm ET.
