Beşiktaş have identified Arsenal‘s Leandro Trossard as the top target to improve their attack this summer.
Arsenal signed the forward from Brighton & Hove Albion in January 2023, and he snubbed their local rivals, Tottenham Hotspur, to make a switch to the Emirates.
Trossard won the title and lost the Champions League final to Paris Saint-Germain with the Gunners.
He had an opportunity to leave last summer but decided to continue with Arsenal and his future now needs sorting.
New attempt to sign Arsenal man
Beşiktaş are looking to take him away from the English champions. That’s according to Sporx, who report they failed to sign the Belgium international last summer
Arsenal are planning to make changes to their attack and as part of it, Leandro Trossard could be allowed to leave.
The Turkish club can take advantage of this, after identifying him as their main attacking target. They have already taken necessary steps and are in contact with Mikel Arteta’s side and the forward’s agent.
Sporx makes no mention of the details of their discussions or how the negotiations are progressing.
However, Beşiktaş are expected to make a ‘serious offer’ to the Gunners in the next few days. There’s nothing to indicate or suggest the fee the Istanbul club are willing to offer or about Arsenal’s demand.
Due to the uncertainty around his future, the player is also attracting interest from other European clubs.
Meanwhile, Trossard is now focusing on the preparations for the World Cup with Belgium.
If there’s no movements before the tournament kicks start on June 11th, then his suitors might have to wait until the end of Belgium’s World Cup campaign.
Contract, value and agent info
The Belgian has less than 13 months left on his contract, and Transfermarkt value him at €18m.
This summer will be Arsenal’s last chance to cash in from his sale and wouldn’t be in a position to demand a lot, also because of his age. Agency Fokus represent Leandro Trossard.
