San Antonio ISD says ex-employee no longer with district after deadly conduct arrest (news4sanantonio.com) β San Antonio residents should know that a former San Antonio ISD employee has been charged with deadly conduct after allegedly pointing a gun toward a co-worker during an off-duty gathering, and the district confirms he no longer works there. The incident, which reportedly occurred near NW Military Highway and Wurzbach Parkway last November, remains under investigation, and officials say they cannot release further details.
2. Possible detox-related medical episode cited in death of inmate at Bexar County jail (news4sanantonio.com) β A 57-year-old woman died after a medical emergency at the Bexar County Adult Detention Center in San Antonio, despite on-site treatment and EMS response. Officials say detox-related issues may have contributed, and the medical examiner will determine the final cause and manner of death while procedures at the jail are reviewed.
3. Texas' 35th Congressional District primary runoffs: Who is running and what to know (texastribune.org) β Voters in parts of San Antonio now fall into a reshaped 35th Congressional District, where both parties are heading into high-stakes primary runoffs. Local candidates with deep San Antonio ties, including a former city council hopeful and longtime firefighter, are pitching sharply different visions on immigration, policing, the economy, and energy as they court area residents' support.
4. Family of stabbing victim creates 'Marcus Feeds 100' effort to honor son's memory (ksat.com) β A San Antonio family is honoring 23-year-old Marcus Coley, who was fatally stabbed near the San Antonio Central Library, by launching a "Marcus Feeds 100" outreach effort. They've begun handing out lunches near downtown shelters and are inviting the community to remember Marcus at a public viewing Saturday at Bell & Bell Funeral Home.

NYC Tex-Mex restaurant backs Spurs, Wemby in Knicks territory (mysanantonio.com) β Two San Antonio natives are loudly backing the Spurs and Wembanyama from their Tex-Mex restaurant Yellow Rose in New York City, decorating with Spurs gear and screening Finals games. They describe how growing up in San Antonio cemented their Spurs loyalty, while their Manhattan spot has become a gathering place for transplanted Texans and Spurs fans far from home.
