One of the toughest parts about playing fantasy football is evaluating what to expect out of players joining new teams. Kenneth Walker spent the first four years of his career with the Seattle Seahawks before signing with the Kansas City Chiefs this offseason.

Even though the Chiefs are one of the biggest names in football, the Seahawks are coming off a Super Bowl win. That being said, wins don’t necessarily translate into the best fantasy football situation.

By the end of this article, you should understand if the move is good or bad for Walker, what the future holds in Kansas City, and if you should draft him based on his consensus ranking.

Kenneth Walker 2026 Fantasy Football Breakdown

Starting with Walker as a player, he’s been good but not elite during his NFL career. Walker had his best season in 2024 with 16.5 PPG (PPR), but this past year, despite only running for 1,027 yards, which was the second-best of his career, he had 11.3 PPG.

Now, many are going to argue that the reason Walker hasn’t been better is because of Zach Charbonnet. That’s a fair argument to an extent, as Charbonnet scored eight touchdowns in 2024 and 12 in 2025.

Walker had just seven in 2024 but only five in 2025. The best season of Walker’s career for fantasy football came when, despite only running for 3.7 YPC, he had 46 catches for 299 yards in just 11 games.

Despite never playing in fewer than 15 games outside of that year, the second-best year Walker had as a receiver was in 2025, when he had 31 catches for 282 yards in 17 games.

Now, Walker did this even when Charbonnet had 42 catches in 2024, but it should be even more likely if he’s the main pass catcher.

It’s never been the best part of Walker’s game, but between Emari Demercado, Emmett Johnson, and Brashard Smith, I'm expecting him to be on the field quite a bit. If Walker is on the field for passing down, which he should be, as the Chiefs don’t want to clearly indicate they're throwing the ball, opportunities should come his way.

As for the Patrick Mahomes injury, with him coming off a knee injury, he should favor dumping the ball to his running backs rather than taking off himself for most of this year, which would help Walker.

There’s still a lot of unknown around the Mahomes injury, but the link above talks about him potentially being back by week one.

Kenneth Walker 2026 Fantasy Football Ranking

One extremely important part of the equation that we have to keep in mind is where Walker is being drafted. Fantasy football is not just about which players are your favorite, but which values are the best.

When looking at the expert consensus rankings (PPR) on Fantasy Pros, Walker comes in as the RB11. That’s a fair price point, but there are still a few running backs being drafted after Walker that I'd take over him.

That includes Jeremiyah Love (RB12) and Derrick Henry (RB14) for now.

In the overall rankings, Walker comes in as the 33rd overall player, which I’m not opposed to relative to the other names around him. While I’d still take the two running backs mentioned above over Walker in that spot, this is a fair ranking.

When breaking down all of the information, it’s fair to project out Walker as a low end RB1. It feels as if Walker is just a hair too high, but overall, I’m neither aggressively avoiding him in fantasy football drafts or targeting him.
