Now, the idea could reportedly gain more traction.

According to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints, Curry intends to meet with James in an effort to persuade him to join the Warriors this summer.

"League sources telling us at ClutchPoints that the Warriors are very much open to pursuing LeBron James and they plan to do so this offseason in free agency," Siegel reported.

"LeBron James, at the end of his career, he could still contribute at a high level. We saw that in the playoffs. Pairing him with Stephen Curry is going to be something that the Warriors look to pursue over the next few weeks."

"It seemed very doubtful, it seemed low percentage, now it's kind of questionable. Now there's going to be some legs to this… That same source told us that Steph is planning on meeting and talking with LeBron about potentially joining the Warriors over the course of the next few weeks leading up to free agency," he added.

James is expected to enter the 24th season of his career, with the Los Angeles Lakers still viewed as the most likely destination for him to continue playing. However, teams such as the Cleveland Cavaliers and Warriors have also been mentioned in rumors.

James is entering free agency after completing an expiring $52.6 million contract, giving him full control over his next move.

Despite being in the later stage of his career, he remains highly productive. In his 22nd NBA season, James averaged 20.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 7.2 assists per game while shooting 51.5 percent from the field across 60 appearances.
