**[Arsenal](https://sportwitness.co.uk/arsenal/) star Viktor Gyökeres has played down any injury or fitness concerns after playing in Sweden’s 2-2 draw with Greece on Thursday.**

**Arsenal to Sweden**

---------------------

The Arsenal forward had been expected to miss out on Sweden’s friendlies ahead of the World Cup give, given the Gunners’ run to the Champions League final. At the minimum, he was not expected to be starting.

Instead, he started the game and scored in it, playing 63 minutes before being taken off by Graham Potter.

That came with it’s own risks as he was involved in a nervous moment when he was cut down from behind in a scenario that could have had dire consequences. Fortunately, he is okay and insists that fitness wise everything is fine as well.

“It’s fun to be back and play with the guys again,” he said.

“It’s felt good in my body, and I’ve felt in good physical shape. That’s why I felt it was good to get match minutes into my legs. It’s a while until the World Cup premiere. So, it may be needed.”

**World Cup plans**

-------------------

Fortunately for Sweden, the striker was in good form as he bagged one of their two goals in the 2-2 draw. Surprisingly, though, his famous celebration was nowhere to be seen.

That, he admits, was a conscious decision. He’s saving his trademark for the big games at the World Cup.

“I’m saving it for the World Cup,” he added.

“I haven’t done it every time we’ve been down. It’s happened before that I haven’t done it then. And it was also a friendly match. But I can do it later at the hotel.”

**Arsenal celebrations**

------------------------

The 28-year-old will head into the tournament on the back of a successful first season with Arsenal following his move from Sporting Club de Portugal last summer.

While the goals may have not flown as freely as they did in Portugal, he still ended the campaign with 21 in all competitions. And, crucially, a Premier League title as well. The celebrations for that, are something he wants to experience again.

“We didn’t get many hours of sleep because we went back to London. After the parade I was a bit tired. But it was just extremely fun to experience it,” he concluded.

“I got an extremely high amount of energy from all the fans. It was a special experience that I would love to do again.”
