Official: Barcelona reveal pre-season schedule ahead of 2026/27 season

Barcelona have officially unveiled the first details of their preparations for the 2026/27 campaign, with the club set to spend part of the summer in England as Hansi Flick begins planning for another demanding season.

The Catalan giants confirmed that the first-team squad will report back on July 13 for the traditional round of medical examinations and fitness assessments before beginning training sessions at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.

While those early weeks will be spent in Barcelona, the club has also finalised plans for an overseas training camp that will form a key part of the team’s summer preparations.

Barcelona to hold pre-season camp in England

The most notable feature of this year’s schedule is a week-long stay in England between July 27 and August 3.

During that period, Barcelona will be based at St George’s Park, the training centre regularly used by the England national team and widely regarded as one of the finest football facilities in Europe.

Furthermore, the trip will not consist solely of training sessions, as Barcelona are also expected to play several friendly matches during their stay in England.

Current plans include one behind-closed-doors fixture as well as a public friendly against Birmingham City at St Andrew’s Stadium.

What else?

Behind the scenes, Barcelona are also working on additional fixtures that would further expand the club’s global reach ahead of the new season.

One proposal that has gained significant momentum in recent days is a friendly match against River Plate in Argentina.

The possibility has been under discussion for some time, with reports suggesting negotiations are now progressing positively.

At the same time, another international fixture remains under consideration in Morocco, where Barcelona could face a local opponent as part of their summer tour plans.
