Andy Robertson has completed his free transfer to Tottenham Hotspur.

The full-back brought an end to a nine-year spell at Liverpool when his contract expired.

Robertson was linked with a January switch to Tottenham, but a move failed to come to fruition as the Reds failed to bring in a replacement.

However, Spurs have since confirmed the 32-year-old's arrival, despite late interest from Serie A giants Juventus.

Widely regarded as one of the best left-backs in the world under Jurgen Klopp, the Scotland captain brings bags of experience and a winning mentality with him, having won two Premier League titles, the Champions League, FA Cup and two League Cups.

Robertson becomes Spurs' first summer signing, but he won't be the last as the club look to ensure they avoid another relegation scrap and back-to-back 17th place finishes.

The north London side secured their Premier League safety on the final day of the season, finishing two points clear of rivals West Ham with a 1-0 home victory Everton.

Who else will Tottenham sign?

Spurs have an agreement in principle for Argentine centre-back Marcos Senesi after his Bournemouth departure, talkSPORT understands.

Manchester City winger Savinho is also a target for Spurs, the capital outfit having been linked with a move for the Brazilian last summer and again in January.

Robertson's arrival comes after head coach Roberto De Zerbi called on the club to assemble 'a top team'.

De Zerbi took over the Spurs reins at the end of March and guided the club to safety, collecting 11 points from his seven matches after he succeeded Igor Tudor in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium dugout.

Speaking after the final-day win over Everton, the Italian said: "Next season we have to build a top team.

"We have to bring, I don't know how many, but other top first-level [players] because it is right to give satisfaction for the fans and the club because the board suffered this season.

"We deserve something more because we suffered too much."

De Zerbi pleased with Robertson deal

"Andy is someone I've admired for a number of years and he will bring outstanding technical qualities, experience, leadership and mentality to our team.

"He is a proven winner at the highest level over a long period and is someone who can be a big player for us, both on and off the pitch.

"I can't wait to start working with him and seeing the positive impact he will have on everyone around him."
