Liverpool shockingly signed Fabinho just a few days after losing a Champions League final; it's a move which Arsenal can certainly learn something from eight years later. The Gunners narrowly missed out on European glory last weekend with Paris Saint-Germain defeating them on penalties in Budapest.

Having finally won the Premier League title at the fourth time of asking, there was not necessarily a feeling of despair but instead an understanding that they would be back in this position again soon.

The upcoming transfer window is likely to be crucial for that dream scenario to play out in 12 months, with Mikel Arteta's side interested in signing a new midfielder, full-back and left-sided winger.

Having proven themselves as the best defence in Europe, a marquee attacking addition is almost certainly what could take them to the next level.

Eli Junior Kroupi and Morgan Rogers are both of interest to Arsenal, football.london understands. Atletico Madrid star Julian Alvarez has also been linked but he looks more likely to join Barcelona.

For Liverpool, the signing of Fabinho after losing to Real Madrid in 2018 immediately paid off as they beat Tottenham in next season's final and then won the Premier League title the following year, with the Brazilian cementing himself as a key player in the team. Arsenal will be hoping any addition over the coming months can have a similar impact.

Kroupi has been linked to PSG, but reports in France suggest they are not targeting the Bournemouth star. Instead, they are looking at AS Monaco's Maghnes Akliouche and Yan Diomande of RB Leipzig.

That could give Arsenal a free run at signing him, even with the Cherries determined to keep him. Rogers, meanwhile, is expected to depart Aston Villa this summer and could cost around £80million.

Chelsea and Manchester City are also interested, but the Gunners are seemingly in pole position to sign him. Capable of playing on the left and centrally, it would quite the statement signing by sporting director Andrea Berta.

Getting Rogers in before the World Cup starts is also possible but only at the right price for Villa. Their demands could also increase if he has a strong tournament with England.
