The 2025/26 season was a decent one for Everton, with a 13th place finish and 49 points, recording their highest season total since 2020/21, where 59 points was enough to finish 10th.
However, David Moyes' side will potentially rue their poor form during the run-in, which saw the Toffees win none of their final seven matches, and miss out on European football.
What Everton can take into next season is their defensive solidity, particularly on the road, where they only conceded 23 goals, ranking them third in the Premier League behind champions Arsenal and Manchester City.
Though they will need more in attack next season, with just 47 goals across the season proving to be the joint fifth lowest in the league, alongside Fulham.
Player of the year and signing of the season: Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

Signed on the back of winning two trophies in his debut season with Chelsea, Dewsbury-Hall left the London club in search of getting minutes, as the 27-year-old only featured 13 times in the Premier League.
Dewsbury-Hall guided Leicester back to the Premier League at the first time of asking as he scored 12 goals and registered 14 assists as the Foxes won the Championship.
Previously, the midfielder broke onto the scene with successful loans with Blackpool and Luton Town before making 129 appearances for Leicester.
Everton’s number 22 was consistent throughout and excelled playing just behind the striker. The former Leicester man was a key source of goals for the Blues, notching 12 goals and 12 assists.
Dewsbury-Hall scored big goals, including a strike from distance in the 1-0 victory over Manchester United and a late equaliser in the 2-2 draw against European rivals Brentford.
Despite Everton tailing off towards the end of the season, Dewsbury-Hall remained Everton’s key player, and when Dewsbury-Hall suffered a hamstring injury against former club Chelsea, Everton’s form was mixed as they picked up two wins out of six without their summer signing.
Dewsbury-Hall’s first moment in the Royal Blue shirt came in Everton’s third game of the season away at Molineux, where the midfielder scored a sublime half-volley from distance and showed good interplay with Jack Grealish, and Dewsbury-Hall played the ball across goal for Iliman Ndiaye to tap in from close play.

Young Player of the Year - Harrison Armstrong

During David Moyes’s first tenure at the Blues, the Everton academy often produced players who made an impact for the first team. Wayne Rooney is the first name that springs to mind with the forward bursting onto the scene and firing past David Seaman at just 16 years old.
James Vaughan was the Premier League's youngest goalscorer before Max Dowman surpassed him, and players like Jack Rodwell, Ross Barkley and Victor Anichebe showed that there was a pathway at the club.
However, in recent years, that pathway has evaporated, but Harrison Armstrong has found his way into first-team contention. The 19-year-old made his debut last season before a second-half loan spell at Derby County.
This season, Armstrong started against Mansfield in the Carabao Cup and claimed two assists before a successful loan spell at Preston North End followed.
Armstrong was recalled in January due to Everton’s squad being low on numbers and started against Manchester United, Fulham and Brighton out of position. The midfielder starred in the 1-0 victory away at Aston Villa.
Despite finding minutes hard to come by at the end of the season, Armstrong has proven that he can start for the Blues.

The 2025/26 season proved to be a huge success for James Garner. The former Manchester United player's first few seasons at the club were plagued by injuries, but he showed glimpses of what he can offer.
In Garner’s first season at the club, he started at right-wingback in the 1-0 victory over Bournemouth to ensure Everton’s survival. Garner’s versatility has been important for the Blues this season.
In the first two games of the season, the 25-year-old occupied the left-back position and scored Everton’s second goal in the Club’s inaugural game at the Hill Dickinson.
Garner has been an ever-present and has been all action, which was rewarded with an England call-up, where Garner started against Uruguay and was named Player of the Match.
Now entering his fifth season at the club, the midfielder was rewarded with a contract extension which runs till 2030. At the end of the season awards, Garner won Player of the Season and Player’s Player of the Season, and produced two goals and seven assists in all 38 Premier League games.

Standout result - Everton 3-0 Chelsea

The perfect occasion to make Hill Dickinson feel like home. Everton started life at their new home with wins against Brighton, Crystal Palace, Fulham and Nottingham Forest in their opening eight home games, with two draws and two defeats also occurring.
However, after the 3-0 victory over Nottingham Forest, Everton went seven home games without a win in all competitions. The Chelsea game marked the first time the fan group 1878s planned a bus welcome, which set the tone for the 5:30 visit of the Blues.

Beto fired the Blues in front as he got in behind Chelsea’s defence and dinked the ball around the diving Robert Sanchez before firing past the Spaniard early in the second half to double Everton’s advantage.
Iliman Ndiaye secured the three points as he drifted inside and curled his effort into the top right corner, which started feeling like the turning point at Hill Dickinson and finally settled at home.
The comfortable evening didn’t prove to be a catalyst, as that was Everton’s last win of the season, as David Moyes’s side picked up three points out of 21.
Other strong victories were the 1-0 win against Manchester United with ten men, 1-0 victories over Bournemouth and Aston Villa. The 2-0 against Brighton, where Everton started life in the perfect manner, down on the waterfront.
