Jalen Brunson unique training drill for Victor Wembanyama revealed

Jalen Brunson's preparation for facing Victor Wembanyama includes a unique training drill involving a giant broom designed to simulate the Spurs star's length and shot-blocking ability. The Knicks guard scored 30 points in Game 1 of the NBA Finals and continues to lead New York's title push after averaging 27.1 points per game throughout the playoffs.

Jalen Brunson has once again proven why he is the engine behind the New York Knicks championship push.

After leading the Knicks to a Game 1 victory over the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals, Brunson's preparation for facing Victor Wembanyama has become a major talking point.

According to Mark Medina, Brunson's trainer Dave Williams has been using a special drill designed to simulate the challenge of shooting over the Spurs superstar.

"I've talked with (Jalen Brunson's trainer)…they do this drill that he calls the Wemby that he like holds this gigantic broom to try to block his shots so that improves his arch. When he's going up against Wemby it's like a normal workout routine."

The extra preparation appears to be paying off.

Brunson was the difference-maker in Game 1 of the Finals, finishing with 30 points while scoring 13 in the fourth quarter as the Knicks secured the opening win of the series and took a 1-0 lead.

The All-Star guard is no stranger to success against Wembanyama and the Spurs. Earlier this season, Brunson earned MVP honors after helping New York defeat San Antonio in the NBA Cup Championship.

His impact has been felt throughout the entire postseason. Across the playoffs, Brunson has averaged 27.1 points, 6.3 assists, and 2.8 rebounds per game, continuing to lead the Knicks on both ends of the floor as they chase an NBA title.
