Bears sign 1st-round pick Dillon Thieneman, 2nd-rounder Logan Jones

The Bears signed first-round draft pick Dillon Thieneman and second-rounder Logan Jones on Friday morning.Friday morning.

Both will receive a standard four-year rookie contract. Thieneman, the star Oregon safety, will make about $17 million over four years. Jones, the former Iowa center, is expected to make about $7.7 million. Thieneman’s deal comes with a fifth-year team option the Bears must exercise after Year 3.

Stanford tight end Sam Roush is the only unsigned member of the Bears’ draft class. Last month, the Bears signed four draft picks: Round 3 receiver Zavion Thomas, Round 4 cornerback Malik Muhammad, Round 5 linebacker Keyshaun Elliott and Round 6 defensive lineman Jordan van den Berg.

After finishing organized team activities, the Bears will hold three mandatory minicamp practices from Tuesday-Thursday next week before breaking for the summer. In what is a common practice, Bears rookies have been practicing despite not having signed contracts. They need to sign in order to participate in training camp, which stats in late July.
