Arne Slot rejects Fulham offer

Arne Slot has reportedly rejected an offer from Premier League side Fulham, who are on the hunt for a new manager with Marco Silva heading to Portuguese giants Benfica.

This is according to Gary Jacobs for the Times, who reports that the Dutchman is not in a hurry over a new role and will take his time to make a decision on his future.

The 47-year-old is believed to “not be interested” in the job at Craven Cottage.

The report adds that Fulham’s list also includes Kieran McKenna, who has a release clause in the region of £8million, as well as Lens boss Pierre Sage – whom they have already held talks for.

Sage actually admitted he would be open to the Liverpool job, having led Lens to a historic Ligue 1 season that saw them challenge juggernauts PSG for the league title in France:

“Liverpool? This club represents so much, it’s a bit like Lens in its values,” Sage said.

“There are other attractive clubs in England, but it would be the holy grail.”

Jacobs adds that Fulham were very keen on Andoni Iraola before he went on to succeed Slot at Liverpool.

One bad season at Liverpool does not diminish the body of work Arne Slot has, and his stock is still high across the continent.

Any club trying to prise him away now has to come up with more than just a competitive wage; they need a project that feels like a genuine step up.

Fulham can offer London, the Premier League and a solid platform, but they simply cannot match the European profile and long‑term potential he already enjoys.

He has been linked to the Netherlands job already. Ronald Koeman’s contract expires after the 2026 World Cup, and it may be exactly the sort of less-pressure role that Slot would desire after a turbulent final season at Anfield.
