The brass at La Liga champions Barcelona have pumped the brakes on Ansu Fati’s transfer to AS Monaco being made permanent.
The Blaugrana, it is claimed, are eager not to lose complete control of their academy graduate’s long-term future.
Word was forthcoming earlier this week that attacker Ansu was all set to see his move to French outfit Monaco made full-time by the Monegasques.
After the 23-year-old netted a solid 12 goals whilst on loan this past season, those behind the scenes at the Stade Louis II made the definitive decision to activate their purchase clause.
At the last minute, however, Barcelona have thrown a spanner in the works…
As per a report from **[Mundo Deportivo](https://www.mundodeportivo.com/futbol/fc-barcelona/20260604/1004191268/barca-no-quiere-perder-control-sobre-ansu.html)**, Deco and co. have begun efforts to re-negotiate the terms of Ansu’s sale:
‘Barcelona’s top executives want to include a buy-back option or another formula, such as a percentage of a sale, to keep the player under control and avoid criticism should he make a significant leap to a top-level professional career.’
It is also noted that the Blaugrana remain hopeful of a more lucrative offer arriving for the Spanish international.
