Ex-Liverpool boss Arne Slot'rejects'immediate Premier League return after approach

Former Liverpool boss Arne Slot has rejected the chance to manager a Premier League club again just over a week after he was let go by the Reds following a disappointing season

Arne Slot has reportedly rejected the chance of an immediate to the Premier League just over a week after he was sacked by Liverpool.

His former club confirmed Andoni Iraola will take over at Liverpool come August but Slot was reportedly offered the chance of a return to Anfield in the opposite dugout.

Fulham are currently on the hunt for a new manager following the departure of Marco Silva, who is believed to be heading to replace Jose Mourinho at Benfica.

The London side have been linked with plenty of names with the bookies, including Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna, ex-Spurs manager Thomas Frank and even former Man Utd manager Ruben Amorim.

According to TalkSport, Slot has been approach by Fulham to become their next manager but has reportedly rejected the opportunity to discuss taking over at Craven Cottage.

Slot has yet to disclose his future plans and it is unknown whether he will take a break before taking up a new role. He has also been linked with clubs abroad with AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen also looking for a new manager.

Meanwhile, Slot's replacement at Liverpool has spoken of his delight at joining a special club.

Iraola, 43, is understood to have signed a two-year contract, in keeping with his way of operating at former clubs where he also chose not to agree to long-term deals.

Iraola said: "Really excited, really excited. Because obviously you know about Liverpool, you know that it’s a big club, a massive club, one of the biggest in the world.

“But feeling inside and understanding a little bit more of this club, I always thought it’s a special club.

“You don’t need a lot of things to get attracted by Liverpool. Liverpool is Liverpool.

“But obviously the atmosphere, the supporters, the club, the players, the chance for me to coach top-level players, the chance to fight for titles.

“I think it cannot be more attractive than this. It’s difficult to find it. So, really excited to start.
