The transfer race for RB Leipzig’s teenage sensation Yan Diomande is heating up fast. The 19-year-old Ivorian winger has become one of the most sought-after names in football this summer, and Liverpool news around a potential move to Anfield has taken a significant turn after the player made his admiration for PSG very clear.

As reported by GOAL, Yan Diomande spoke to L’Equipe ahead of the World Cup. He admitted a lifelong love for PSG, saying his father was a supporter of the club. It was a clear and open hint about where his heart lies.
These comments matter. The winger has been careful not to name a destination outright. But making a statement like this, just before a major tournament, is rarely without intent. For a 19-year-old who has taken European football by storm in just one season, the message felt deliberate.
PSG have been busy behind the scenes too. As reported by TEAMtalk, the club has already got a verbal agreement from the player’s camp. That said, the Champions League winners are not keen on a bidding war. They have made it clear they will not overpay for any player, even one this good.
A season that made the whole of Europe take notice
It is not hard to see why so many clubs are chasing Yan Diomande. His numbers this season have been staggering for a player his age. As reported by Bundesliga.com, he became just the fourth-youngest player in league history to hit double figures for goals in a single campaign. That is a remarkable achievement for someone in their debut season in Germany.

His duel success rate sat at 55%, and he won more duels than anyone else in the league. These are the numbers of a winger who breaks lines and hurts teams weekly. He also picked up the Bundesliga Rookie of the Season award.
Leipzig boss Ole Werner summed it up well. As reported by TEAMtalk, he called the teenager “an extraordinary talent” and “a pretty complete package.” The club signed him from Leganes for just €20 million last summer. As per Transfermarkt, he is under contract until 2030, and Leipzig are already demanding closer to €100 million for his signature. The jump in his value alone tells you everything about the kind of season he has had.

The need for a wide attacker at Anfield has never been more urgent. Salah is gone. The Premier League side also faces the exits of Ibrahima Konate and Andrew Robertson. That is a lot of experience to lose at once. New head coach Andoni Iraola will need serious backing in the transfer market to get things right from the start.
