Bengals build new playground at Westwood sports complex during annual Hometown Huddle

CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Bengals coaches, players and staff built a new playground at Ryan Sports Complex in Westwood Friday as part of the team’s annual Hometown Huddle.

The project was made possible through partnerships with the United Way of Greater Cincinnati and the Cincinnati Recreation Commission.

“This community has done so much to support us, so the least we could do is come back and be able to give back and help build this playground,” said head coach Zac Taylor.

Katie Blackburn said the project serves a purpose beyond recreation.

“Playgrounds help children develop physically, socially and cognitively. Obviously, it’s a great project, it gives kids a lot of opportunities to have things to do,” Blackburn said.

The team installed new playground equipment, planted trees, painted equipment and installed new signs throughout the complex.

The Hometown Huddle marks 10 years since the Bengals’ first playground build in 2016.
