In Locked on Kings, Sacramento reporter James Ham revealed that the Lithuanian big man might be moved out of the franchise's intent to part ways and shed significant contracts on their books.
"The intent of the Kings’ front office is to move off of one or more of their large contracts. And as a player, I think Domantas Sabonis, out of all of their larger contract players, still has the most value," Ham said.
"He's got more value than Zach LaVine. He's got more value than DeMar DeRozan. He's got more value than Malik Monk. ... He's got more value than any of those guys."
Sabonis still has two more years left in his contract. He is set to earn $45.4 million next 2026-27 NBA season.
He was limited to just 19 games this season, averaging 15.8 points, 11.4 rebounds and 4.1 assists.
Sabonis stands as one of the premier bigs in the NBA when healthy. And with several other teams set to go after their needed interior presence, the star center will certainly draw plenty of market interest in the offseason.
