Andoni Iraola intends to make an immediate impact at Liverpool with the summer transfer window nearing closer. The Spaniard's appointment as head coach was announced on Thursday as he officially replaces Arne Slot.
His arrival marks a considerable shift in the style of football the fans will have watched under the Dutchman, and with it could come a difference in the type of player Iraola will seek to acquire at Anfield.
Iraola's first three transfer targets
Liverpool were expected to have a significant summer even before the appointment of Iraola. According to the i Paper, the Reds are in the market for a winger, a right-back and a midfielder.
The Spaniard could be set to trigger a raid on his former side with the report claiming the new Liverpool boss is a "huge fan" of Cherries winger Rayan, but a move may not be made until January at the earliest. Next year's winter window will see the Brazilian's release clause - worth £130million - kick in, according to The Athletic.
Denzel Dumfries' upcoming arrival at Real Madrid means Iraola will need to look elsewhere for right-back options, while speculation surrounding the futures of Alexis Mac Allister and Curtis Jones means the Reds have been linked with securing reinforcements in the engine room.

Plot for Man Utd target
A move for Rayan might not be the only business Iraola completes at his old stomping ground. According to The Sun, the 43-year-old is interested in reuniting with Bournemouth star Alex Scott, who has long been eyed by Manchester United.
The 22-year-old enjoyed a stellar season as he played an integral role in the south coast side qualifying for the Europa League for the first time. Having thrived under Iraola, the England midfielder holds a connection to Liverpool's sporting director Richard Hughes.
Hughes brought Scott to Bournemouth from Bristol City in 2023. The player himself told Liverpool fans what to expect from his former manager when quizzed about Iraola's appointment.

Currently in the United States with the England squad, he said: "He is obviously a great manager; you see what we have done as a club at Bournemouth and how we have progressed over the three seasons he was with us.
"I think the way we press out of possession is very aggressive, maybe similar to the early Klopp teams Liverpool had, that fierce aggressiveness and pressing with the wingers. I would say he is similar to that. Liverpool fans should definitely be so excited."
