ESPN analyst takes issue with questionable Karl-Anthony Towns foul call

One NBA analyst did not appreciate one of the referees' foul calls on Karl-Anthony Towns during Game 2 of the 2026 NBA Finals between the New York Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs on Friday night.

Going into the contest, New York had a 1-0 series lead. They stunned San Antonio 105-95 in Game 1, gifting them their first win in an NBA Finals game since 1999, New York's last appearance. This also presented a chance for them to go up 2-0 in the series, something they refused to pass up.

Towns showcased great performances in the first two games so far, playing at a high level on both sides of the ball. However, he has garnered plenty of foul calls and one of them looked to be a mistake. He appeared to be handling a lot of extra physicality against San Antonio defenders, with one of the plays seeing him get an offensive foul.

Tim Legler was on the ABC broadcast panel with Mike Breen and Richard Jefferson for Game 2. When the specific foul took place, the NBA analyst expressed his disapproval towards the officiating on that call.

“I don't like that call at all,” Legler said.
