Over recent years, Chelsea have gained a reputation for spending heavily in the transfer market - subsequently splashing over £1.7b on new additions since the summer of 2022.
The Blues have placed a real impetus on recruiting young prospects who can develop at Stamford Bridge and become elite-level talents in the years ahead.
New boss Xabi Alonso will no doubt crave more control over transfers this summer to help the Spaniard in his quest for Premier League glory in the near future.

It remains to be seen how much the 44-year-old will have to spend after his appointment, but key work is already underway to identify numerous potential reinforcements.
Various areas will likely be bolstered by the hierarchy in the months ahead, with signings needed to avoid a repeat of the 10th-placed finish in 2025/26.
Chelsea make bid to sign £21m star this summer
Despite the window not opening for another ten days, the Blues have already identified numerous players to help Alonso make an immediate impact at the Bridge.
Yan Diomande has been mentioned as a potential transfer target, as the Ivorian looks set for a switch to the Premier League ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

The 19-year-old is also said to have admirers from Manchester United and Liverpool, with around £86m needed to prise him away from RB Leipzig this window.
He’s not the only attacking option currently in the Blues’ sights at present, with AIK teenager Zadok Yohanna also a player under serious consideration.
According to the Daily Mail, Alonso’s side have already made a £21m offer to the Swedish outfit to secure the services of the 18-year-old wonderkid this summer.
The report states that both Brighton & Hove Albion and Newcastle United have also made offers - with all three being accepted by AIK over the last few days.
It’s now down to the player himself as to where he will move to during the window, with a transfer to the Premier League now looking increasingly likely at present.
Why Yohanna would be perfect for Joao Pedro at Chelsea
As part of the recent spending spree, Chelsea secured the £60m signing of centre-forward Joao Pedro from Brighton during last summer’s transfer window.

The Brazilian was tasked with leading the line for the Blues this campaign, something which he’s managed to do - as seen by his impressive goalscoring tally.
He finished on 15 goals in the Premier League this season - the most of anyone in the Chelsea squad, with only four players in the division scoring more.

Pedro will no doubt have the chance to shine in the number nine role under Alonso next term, with the Brazilian national tasked with replicating his form from 2025/26.
If he is to get near or even better his goalscoring tally from this season, he will need help from other attackers around him - something which Yohanna could provide upon any transfer.

Whilst he may just be 18 years of age, the Nigerian star has already demonstrated serious quality - as seen by his tally of two goals and two assists in his seven league games.
His underlying stats from his recent season in the Swedish top division highlight his quality, with many of his stats certainly aiding Pedro upon any transfer this summer.
Yohanna, who’s been dubbed a “future star” by analyst Maxi Angelo, has created 1.3 chances per 90 this term - ranking him in the top 20% of attackers in Sweden.
He’s also managed to complete a staggering 4.3 successful dribbles per 90 this term - with such a tally the highest of any player in the Allsvenskan to date.
Both of the aforementioned statistics showcase his phenomenal ability in possession - often providing the end product to his mazy runs in the final third of the pitch.
Such a quality is a rarity in an 18-year-old star, with Chelsea needing to work tirelessly to avoid missing out on his signature to any of their divisional rivals this window.
Yohanna’s tally of 4.5 passes completed into the final third per 90 also highlights his ability to get the ball into dangerous areas - something that will be music to the ears of Pedro.

The recent offer made for the teenager showcases Chelsea’s desire to get a deal over the line, but they now face a waiting game to see if the player wants a move to West London.
Alonso will no doubt want to get a good look at the teenager in pre-season should he complete any move - but there’s no reason why he can’t be catapulted straight into the senior ranks next term.
