Federico Chiesa is set to meet with Andoni Iraola to discuss his limited playing time at the club over recent seasons and could seek a transfer later this summer.

Chiesa, 28, has spoken to Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, where he opened up about his time on Merseyside after yet another difficult season. He has struggled to nail down a regular place in the side since the turn of the year.

The Italy international failed to start a single Premier League fixture in 2026. Arne Slot handed him just three appearances across the final seven matches of the campaign.

Chiesa failed to get off the bench in four of those outings. He has now confirmed he is weighing up his next move amid reported interest from former club Juventus, who he departed for Anfield in a £12million switch in 2024.

During a new interview, the winger said: "If I don't find consistency in the Premier League, I'll have to look elsewhere. I barely played in my first year at Liverpool, and in the last one, very little.

"I'll go on a training camp in the US, then I'll talk to the club and the new manager, Iraola, and we'll see."

Chiesa accumulated 726 minutes on the pitch last season, the equivalent of roughly eight full 90-minute matches. The forward also chipped in with three goals and three assists during that time, despite sporadic playing time.

"I've played very little since the start of 2026," he said. "I have a great relationship with Liverpool. In January, the club and Slot told me I couldn't leave; they needed me, partly for numerical reasons.

"We were in a tight spot. I understood the situation and I was left smiling. Liverpool is always talked about; last year they helped me win the Premier League."

Chiesa hasn't ruled out a return to Italy, which appears the most probable destination for the Azzurri international. Como are a possibility alongside Juventus - the former having secured Champions League qualification under Cesc Fabregas.
