English football’s new chapter is officially underway.

Following the Premier League’s Annual General Meeting on Friday, the 2026/27 season was formally confirmed — with Coventry City, Ipswich Town and Hull City all handed their share certificates as the league’s three newest members, replacing relegated Wolverhampton Wanderers, Burnley and West Ham United.

The table has been reset.

The 20 clubs are back to zero, arranged alphabetically as they always are at the start of each fresh campaign.

And now, with the business of promotion and relegation settled, every club, every fan, and every fantasy football obsessive has one question: when do we find out who plays who?

The wait is not long.

The 2026/27 Premier League fixtures will be released at 10:00 BST on Friday 19 June 2026, available on premierleague.com and through the official Premier League app.

That gives clubs and supporters just under two months before the opening weekend, enough time to plan travel, mark dates in the diary, and begin the eternal ritual of studying the run-in before a ball has been kicked.

The season itself gets underway on Saturday 22 August 2026, one week later than the 2025/26 campaign began.

The Premier League has been deliberate about that decision, pointing to player welfare in an increasingly congested global calendar.

With the FIFA World Cup 2026 final scheduled for late July, the later start date ensures 89 clear days from the end of the current season and 33 days from the World Cup final, a meaningful buffer for players returning from tournament football.

The campaign will conclude on Sunday 30 May 2027, with all final-day fixtures kicking off simultaneously in the traditional format.

That closing weekend falls one week before the UEFA Champions League Final on 5 June 2027, giving the domestic season room to breathe before Europe takes centre stage.

Across the campaign, clubs can expect 33 weekends of league football and five midweek match rounds.

The schedule has also been designed with the Christmas and New Year period in mind, a contentious area in recent seasons, with a commitment that no two match rounds will take place within 60 hours of each other over the festive stretch.

For the Premier League’s three new arrivals, Coventry, Ipswich and Hull, the fixture release on 19 June will carry particular weight.

Each club will discover their opening-day opponent, their first away trip, and the full shape of a season that represents their return to the top flight.

For everyone else, the countdown to 10:00 BST on 19 June has already begun.
