During a May 2026 appearance on his talk show, the dad of two recalled what it was like to take his daughter, Frances, to Madison Square Garden on May 19 to see the Knicks play against the Cavaliers during the playoffs — which also happened to mark her first live sports game.

Ben Stiller remembers the exact moment he became a Knicks fan.
“It goes way back. It goes back to the '70s, it goes back to my dad who didn’t have season tickets but had friends who had season tickets,” he said during a March 2025 appearance on The Ringer NBA Show, explaining that he had a few opportunities to watch from courtside at 8 years old.
