Manchester United look set to conclude a deal to sign Ederson from Atalanta this summer, with the 26-year-old set to be the Red Devils' first central midfield signing.
United are looking to sign at least two central midfielders, with Casemiro departing at the end of his contract and Manuel Ugarte seemingly having no future at Old Trafford.
A number of new signings have been linked, with Elliot Anderson understood to be the number one transfer priority, although it looks as though city rivals Manchester City may have the advantage in the race to sign him after England's participation in the World Cup is over.
Hayden Hackney could be on the move this summer

Aurelien Tchouameni, Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes have all been linked with a move to Old Trafford but there is a young player who has also been making headlines over a potential summer transfer and that is Hayden Hackney.
The highly-rated Middlesbrough midfielder has been tipped to move away from the Riverside Stadium this summer, after Boro failed to earn promotion to the Premier League via the Championship play-offs.
The 23-year-old was integral to Boro's push for the play-offs this season, playing in the No.6, No.8 and No.10 roles during the season, proving his versatility.
Hackney has plenty of suitors and will want to play at the highest level possible. And United have something of an advantage in signing him given Michael Carrick was his former boss at the Riverside Stadium.
Carrick placed Hackney at the heart of his Boro midfield, giving him the chance to shine and said about the youngster: "I’ve been delighted with Hayden. His attitude is spot on. He’s a young lad who just wants to learn, listen, and improve. He’s got great quality on the ball, but his work rate and how he handles himself in tight situations is what really stands out for a player of his age. He’s got a very bright future if he keeps doing the right things.”
Everton are at the front of the queue to sign Hayden Hackney

United are currently prioritising deals for other midfielders, but Carrick is trying to convince his bosses to get a deal done for the Middlesbrough star once those moves have been completed.
Everton are understood to be frontrunners for Hackney, with the player's preference thought to be on a move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium. But United have been placed on red alert with the news that the Toffees and Boro are far apart in their valuation of the player, with Everton having an opening bid knocked back by the Championship side.

Boro are hoping to get close to £20million for Hackney, who has been dubbed the next Declan Rice, with Everton's initial bid reported to be around the £10million mark.
United could swoop in and sign the player Carrick loves and fill a priority position in the process.
