West Ham Ace Could Replace Rafael Leao But Hammers Want £35M

AC Milan have identified West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville as a potential replacement for Rafael Leao, according to reports.

Leao has made several public comments to confirm that he intends to leave the San Siro, with Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool among his suitors.

It seems the Portuguese international’s departure is inevitable, and from the sound of things, Summerville could move in the opposite direction from England to Italy.

TEAMtalk claim that Milan are “strongly considering” making a bid for the Dutchman, who is expected to leave the London Stadium (along with Mateus Fernandes) following the Hammers’ relegation.

Summerville does have other suitors

Tottenham and Aston Villa are also said to be keen on the 24-year-old. The two teams are keeping tabs on the player.

However, neither side looks close to making a bid, and there is a good chance that Milan could steal a march on their rivals for Summerville’s signature.

One issue to take note of, though, is that Milan do not have a manager or a sporting director currently, following the departure of Max Allegri and Igli Tare.

Any final decisions on recruitment may be delayed until a new head coach is in position. Mauricio Pochettino is currently the favourite for the role ahead of Oliver Glasner.

West Ham have set an asking price

TEAMtalk report that the Irons are hoping to make a profit on Summerville, despite their relegation. The Netherlands international was signed from Leeds for £25m in the summer of 2024.

However, the London club are now hoping to get around £35m from his sale over the coming weeks. There is a £150m financial black hole that needs to be filled, so Summerville’s exit would go some way to making up the shortfall.
