West Ham United’s season ended in the worst possible way after they were relegated to the second tier of English football.

It will be the first time that they find themselves in the Championship since the 2011/12 season.

Whilst it has been a torrid season for the Hammers, they bow out of the Premier League with a squad full of talent.

Jarrod Bowen is one of those players who deserve to remain in England’s top-flight and the West Ham captain won’t be short of suitors if he wishes to move on this summer.

He is a target for Liverpool as DaveOCKOP exclusively revealed back in April and Chelsea have also registered interest in the player.

Whilst two of the Premier League’s biggest clubs are desirable destinations for any player, it has now been revealed that the Magpies could try their luck at snatching a jewel away from the Championship.

According to The Chronicle Live, Newcastle United have made an enquiry for West Ham United captain Jarrod Bowen.

The report goes on to state that Eddie Howe admires the England international’s versatility and experience but does go on to explain how difficult it will be for the club to strike a deal for the player this summer.

Any move would represent a signifcant financial commitment at a time when Newcastle are carefuly managing their spending.

The Tyneside club have already sanctioned a number of major deals this summer. Newcastle have so far only managed to recoup a sizeable fee through the sale of Anthony Gordon to Barcelona, while a substantial portion of their transfer budget is expected to be allocated towards the signing of Ewen Jaouen, who could cost in the region of £24.6 million.

That leaves the club facing a balancing act as they look to strengthen several areas of the squad ahead of a demanding campaign that includes European football.

Howe’s recruitment plans have previously been shaped by similar financial restrictions.

Last summer, the Newcastle boss was informed that he would only be able to sign one established senior player while searching for attacking reinforcements following Alexander Isak’s departure to Liverpool in a deal worth £125 million.

The inability to complete multiple senior signings in one window has influenced Newcastle’s recruitment strategy ever since. Club decision-makers have increasingly focused on players who can offer both immediate impact and long-term value.

Bowen presents a different profile. The West Ham captain is approaching his 30th birthday and would be viewed primarily as an experienced addition capable of delivering instantly rather than a long-term asset.

Despite that, Newcastle believe his Premier League pedigree, leadership qualities and ability to operate across the frontline could make him an attractive option.

Whether the enquiry develops into a formal offer remains to be seen, but Bowen’s name is one Newcastle are actively discussing as they weigh up their next move in the market.
