Twelve-year-old Wyatt Neus, a big Curry fan who has Down syndrome, recently went viral after a student-teacher basketball game in Plymouth, Minnesota. Wearing Curry's No. 30 Warriors jersey, Wyatt drilled a deep shot from well beyond the arc before hitting the famous "night, night" celebration in front of a packed school gym.
The clip quickly spread online and eventually reached the Warriors organization, with vice president of communications Raymond Ridder passing it along to Curry.
Curry did not hesitate to respond.
"Hey Wyatt," Curry began. "I just want to say that was really, really special and inspiring what you did, showing out in front of your whole school. Unbelievable shot, unbelievable celebration, and even better jersey. Great job, Wyatt. See you soon."
The message left Wyatt and his family stunned, as they never expected the viral moment to reach the four-time NBA champion.
Wyatt has been a Curry fan for most of his life, often saying he has followed the Warriors guard since he was very young.
"It's just shocking," Wyatt's mother said per ABC 7 News. "For Steph to take the time out of his day and to look at that is just, I never thought it would become anything like this. We thought it was a cool video that, you know, just like that. Hard to believe that we could maybe lighten other people's hearts, but this has taken a new life of its own, and we're so lucky."
Curry also went a step further, inviting Wyatt and his family to attend a Warriors game in Minnesota next season, giving the young fan a chance to meet his idol in person.
