The summer transfer window is already taking shape at Arsenal, as per latest news. The club is eyeing big decisions on both ends of the transfer market. Now, Leandro Trossard is being tracked by Turkish giants Besiktas. Also, there’s a verbal agreement for Leicester City’s Jeremy Monga.
Besiktas Push Hard for Leandro Trossard
It has been a season to remember at the Emirates Stadium. Mikel Arteta guided Arsenal to their first Premier League title in 22 years. He ended two decades of hurt for a fanbase that had long grown impatient with near-misses.
However, the UCL final against PSG ended in heartbreak. They lost 4-3 on penalties, but the overall campaign was still a great one for the club. Now, the hard work of building on that success begins. With that, Trossard’s future is one of the first questions that needs answering.
As reported by TEAMTALK, Besiktas are keen to sign the Belgian winger. They are likely to make an offer to the Gunners in the coming weeks. Trossard is said to be on top of the transfer wishlist for the Istanbul side. They are looking to bring in two quality forwards before the window closes.
Trossard’s 2025/26 PL stats,as per FotMob:
Matches Goals Assists Minutes Played
31 6 6 2,006
The 31-year-old winger’s contract expires at the end of June 2026. This means the summer is Arsenal’s last real chance to get any fee.
Mikel Arteta’s stance on Trossard’s move
Despite Besiktas’ interest, not everyone at Arsenal is eager to sell Trossard. The TEAMtalk report suggests that Arteta is happy with the player’s impact in the second half of the season. The head coach still sees a role for him within the squad. The forward himself is also said to be content in north London. So, he is not pushing for an exit as well.
However, Gabriel Martinelli is the player the Gunners are more willing to part with this summer. The club would likely prefer to sell Martinelli over Trossard if a good offer arrives. That said, it gives the Besiktas chase an added layer of worry.
The Turkish side wants Trossard at the moment. Meanwhile, the English club is open to letting him go at the right price. But, losing him while also reshaping the attacking line elsewhere will require careful planning. They have to avoid weakening the squad that just won the PL title.
Monga Verbal Deal Edges Closer
While the Trossard situation takes shape, Arsenal are already moving fast to bring in new talent. Journalist Ben Jacobs has revealed that a ‘full verbal agreement is close’ between Leicester City and Arsenal for Jeremy Monga. The 16-year-old has chosen the Gunners over several other interested clubs.
Monga is seen as one of the most exciting young players in English football right now. He became the second-youngest player in PL history after his debut for the Foxes against Newcastle United in April 2025, aged just 15 years and 271 days.
In the 2025-26 Championship season, he had one goal and two assists in 27 games for Leicester, as per FotMob. With the Foxes now relegated to League One, Monga has rejected the offer of a new contract at the club. This comes as he is ready to move on.
RB Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen and AS Roma were also showing interest in the youngster. Given that, it makes Arsenal’s verbal agreement with the player’s camp a huge early win for the north London side ahead of the summer window.
