Huge if true: Liverpool want£100m signing that Iraola said is a"finisher"

**19-year-old striker Junior Kroupi has emerged as a top target for Liverpool as Bournemouth prepare to receive offers in the summer transfer window.**

Bournemouth signed Kroupi from Lorient for just £12m last summer, with new Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola coaching him to a record-breaking 13 Premier League goals in his debut season.

Speaking to BBC Match of the Day in October 2025, Iraola waxed lyrical about the teenage star, saying: _“Junior is a finisher. His strength is that he smells the opportunities. His finishing is very good with his right foot and left foot.”_

Ever since Liverpool announced that the Spanish coach has arrived and is replacing Arne Slot in the dugout from next season, speculation linking the Reds with Kroupi has intensified.

Liverpool must pay over £100m to sign Kroupi but they are “certainly interested”

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown spoke to Football Insider, saying that Bournemouth are always willing to sell their best players but interested clubs like Liverpool must be prepared to pay a premium.

_“Liverpool will certainly be interested in Kroupi,”_ Brown said.

_“He will be on their radar, as he will with most of the top clubs in Europe because of the season he’s just had for Bournemouth._

_“When a 19-year-old is performing the way he has been at this level, it’s always going to attract interest from the biggest clubs not just in England but in Europe._

_“From Bournemouth’s point of view, of course they would like to keep him, but they’ve shown before they’re willing to sell players._

_“If somebody like Liverpool comes in with a huge offer for him, I’m sure they’ll be prepared to accept it and then they can go and find a replacement.”_

Whoever signs Kroupi is signing one of the best players in the world

--------------------------------------------------------------------

It’s a bold claim as Kroupi is just 19, but the type of goals he scored this season speaks volumes.

Not only did he score 13 Premier League goals (joint 9th highest in the league), but Kroupi scored goals from all types of situations. He can score from long range, on the volley, scruffy goals, instinctive strikes – he has the lot.

That said, Liverpool do already have Hugo Ekitike and Alexander Isak, and it seems unlikely that they will sign anything but wingers in attack.
