Paris Saint-Germain could ask for as much as €130m (£112m) for Liverpool and Arsenal target Bradley Barcola, according to RMC Sport reporter Fabrice Hawkins.

The French journalist is usually very reliable, and when asked about the PSG star’s future, he suggested the player may only be sold for the same asking price as Yan Diomande:

“Right now, Bradley Barcola hasn’t said that he wants to leave. If tomorrow, he knocks on the door of the sports director or the president by saying that he wants to leave… we are talking about Leipzig who was asking around €130M for Diomande, I think we will be in the same order of numbers [for Barcola].”

It was initially believed that Diomande would be on the market for €100m (£86m) but Leipzig are extremely reluctant to sell the 19-year-old, and they have now reportedly increased their demands by an additional €30m (£26m).

Liverpool are entering a ‘sellers market’

Elite wingers are few and far between in the modern game, and it seems that if the Reds want the best, they will have to pay through the nose.

Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise was originally the top option, but the Merseysiders have already been priced out of that move.

Real Madrid are preparing a club record €150m (£130m) bid, but Bayern have stated that the Frenchman won’t be sold even for €200m (£173m).

Are there any cheaper alternatives to Barcola and Diomande?

AC Milan’s Rafael Leao is definitely available for a much lower price, but his lack of consistency is a concern. Reports have also linked the Reds with Lille’s Matias Fernandez-Pardo, but he lacks experience.

Sources in the Portuguese media have repeatedly mentioned Sporting Lisbon’s Francisco Trincao as a potential Salah replacement.

However, the 26-year-old has played most of his football as a no.10 over the last twelve months, and no credible outlet in the UK has even said he is a target.
