GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - Jordan Love and Team Offense defeated Micah Parsons and Team Defense 12-2 in the Packers’ annual charity softball game.
The event benefitted the Hands of Love and Lionheart foundations.
Offensive lineman Darian Kinnard won the home run derby, hitting four out of the park. Love also participated in the derby.
Safety Evan Williams made a basket from the top of a slide during pregame activities.
Team Offense scored early in the game. Sean Rhyan hit a solo home run down the line in the first inning.
Trey Smack later hit a home run as Team Offense pulled away.
Parsons intentionally walked Smack with the bases loaded, scoring a run. Rookie Kyren Drones followed with a grand slam.
“I don’t know who does intentional walks in a charity softball game, but they did it twice tonight,” Love said. “It’s like karma. That’s what you get.”
Parsons said the intentional walk strategy backfired.
“It’s like going against Ryan Howard and Chase Utley,” Parsons said. “We had to pick one. We felt like Trey was off to a hot start with his home run earlier. It was his first at bat, and he made us pay for it.”
Parsons is recovering from a torn ACL.
