Federico Chiesa has revealed that Liverpool teammate Curtis Jones has asked him about life in Italy, amid rumours of a summer move to Inter Milan.
Jones has had a frustrating period at Anfield with Arne Slot in charge, too often having to take up a squad role, even when other midfielders are struggling for form.
Now 25 years old, he has reached a key point in his career, with regular football required if he is to reach his potential.
A switch to Inter has been consistently mooted in recent weeks, and now Chiesa has all but confirmed that Jones is considering a move there.

Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, the winger claimed that he has discussed his homeland with the boyhood Liverpool fan and believes he could thrive there.
“Jones just asked me what life is like in Italy,” Chiesa said.
“I told him it’s great and the weather is better than Liverpool, which, aside from that, is a special place.
“Jones is really strong technically. Inter are right to think about him.”

As mentioned, Inter have emerged as Jones’ leading option, with Fabrizio Romano reporting last weekend that he remains “totally open” to moving there, adding:
“The relationship between Curtis Jones and Arne Slot was not excellent. Not from a personal point of view [where there was] maximum respect, but since Jones was a reserve for Arne Slot.
“It was one of the reason why Curtis Jones considered leaving Liverpool and going to Inter back in January.”
Negotiations are also said to be underway regarding the transfer, with Inter’s starting point of €20 million (£17.3m) less than half of what Liverpool want for Jones.
Liverpool must convince Curtis Jones to stay this summer

Jones is never going to be Steven Gerrard, even though he was so highly-rated during his academy days, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t still a big asset for Liverpool.
He is versatile and intelligent, not to mention press-resistant, having enjoyed a hugely impressive 94.7 percent pass completion rate in the Champions League in 2025/26.
Jones also knows Liverpool inside out as a club, and having already lost Trent Alexander-Arnold, it wouldn’t be ideal to see another homegrown talent move on and leave a dearth of them at the club.
It is understandable why he is considering a new challenge at this point in his career, but hopefully, Liverpool’s new head coach Andoni Iraola persuades him to stay put.
He can continue to be a key man for the Reds, especially as his peak years are likely to still be ahead of him, and it would be a shame to see him leave.
It is easy to see Jones excelling in Serie A, though, enjoying a slower pace than the Premier League and dictating games with his technical quality.
