Player’s father listening to offers from Newcastle United and Chelsea–Do-or-die meeting sought

Newcastle United and Chelsea are firmly in the picture to sign Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic.

The striker flourished towards the end of the 2025/26 campaign. He scored four times in five league games right after a return from a long-term injury.

Despite this, he couldn’t stop Juventus from finishing outside the top four. This will impact his stay in Turin, as the Serbian’s contract runs out at the end of this month.

So far, there have been no developments over a renewal. Sport Witness have covered how Newcastle United are interested, but nothing appeared certain.

As the clock ticks down, a move to England could be gathering pace.

Do-or-die meeting incoming

Gazzetta dello Sport report that Vlahovic remains interested in staying in Turin. That is why one last meeting will take place between his father and the club to potentially progress talks.

This has been described as a do-or-die meeting which will dictate the 26-year-old’s future.

Vlahovic’s father – Milos, has already spoken to clubs. This includes Chelsea and Newcastle United, whose approaches are being taken seriously.

In the meantime, Juve are clear about not going beyond €6m per season, and there is a gap of €2m between the two parties.

There is pessimism at the Bianconeri about a renewal though, and his exit looks likely.

Both clubs at disadvantage

Chelsea and Newcastle United won’t be playing in Europe next season. Juventus haven’t qualified for the Champions League but they will play in the Europa League. Other suitors like Bayern Munich and Barcelona can offer Vlahovic regular European football.

This is one reason why the two English clubs may not be favourites for a deal. In the last few seasons, the striker has played and scored regularly in Europe.

Besides that, Vlahovic hasn’t had a great injury record in the last two seasons. This hasn’t impacted his output but is a red flag for Newcastle United and Chelsea. Considering how his agents will also demand a hefty commission, a deal for him is risky.
