Assessed late in the second quarter, Robinson's technical was controversial from the start.
Spurs star Victor Wembanyama appeared to instigate the incident by shoving Robinson; however, the officials handed the tech to the Knicks' big man instead.
Despite the call, Robinson remained calm, showing no reaction that would typically warrant such a penalty.
The NBA eventually acknowledged the error and rescinded the foul, per Fred Katz of The Athletic.
