Brazil's head coach, Carlo Ancelotti, has decided his starting XI for the team's World Cup opener against Morocco.
Yet the Brazilians have suffered a significant injury setback on the eve of the tournament following the friendly against Egypt in Cleveland on Saturday. Several former Liverpool stars were in action, including Mohamed Salah and Fabinho, while current No. 1 Alisson started for Brazil.
Despite beating Egypt 2-1 thanks to goals from Bruno Guimaraes and Endrick, Brazil's triumph was overshadowed by an injury to Wesley. The right-back broke down in tears at the final whistle and will need to be assessed ahead of the tournament.
Despite losing Wesley to injury, Ancelotti is optimistic heading into the World Cup. The Brazilians also have group games against Haiti and Scotland on the horizon.
Ancelotti said: "First of all, it's a shame to lose Wesley. We have to wait for the tests now.
"But we have good players to replace him. I have decided the starting line-up to play against Morocco. I came away from this game with more certainty than doubts. It was a very good game for us."

The former Real Madrid and AC Milan boss also believes that Endrick, who scored the decisive goal in the win against Egypt, will play a big role this summer.
Ancelotti added: "He's very powerful and is always in the right place in the penalty box.
"And while Matheus Cunha maybe doesn't finish like Endrick, he's very important for building the game too."
Alisson, meanwhile, is expected to feature at the World Cup, despite an injury-hit season at Anfield.
The goalkeeper featured in just 26 Premier League games for Liverpool during the 2025/26 season. He was absent for the final part of the campaign before making his comeback in Liverpool's last game against Brentford, playing 90 minutes.

Speaking on Alisson's fitness in May — before his comeback against Brentford — Ancelotti said: "Alisson is returning from injury but has been training for two weeks.
"He is doing normally, he is well, and I believe he will play the next game (for Liverpool).
"Even if he doesn’t play, he has the time to be 100 percent for the first game of the cup."
