Inter Milan have publicly acknowledged their interest in Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones, with a senior figure at the Italian club confirming that the Reds academy graduate is firmly on their radar.
Speculation surrounding Jones’ future has continued to escalate in recent weeks, and Inter have now added fuel to those rumours with an open admission regarding their admiration for the player.

Inter Milan director Piero Ausilio delivered a remarkably open admission to a question on the Liverpool midfielder in a recent interview at the Serie A festival in Parma.
Via CalcioNews24, Ausilio said: “It’s no secret we’re following Curtis Jones. He’s a player we like, we’re not hiding.”
The comments represent one of the clearest indications yet that the rumoured interest in the 25-year-old from Inter Milan is real.
Ausilio didn’t suggest that a transfer was imminent, but his message was cler.
“We will see the developments,” he added, leaving the door open for potential talks to continue.
Ausilio did also comment on how tough it has become to negotiate with English clubs, hinting at many different factors that convince players to move to Italy.
He said: “It’s normal that when you compete with powers like the English teams have become today, you have to put something extra into it. That is, where economic power doesn’t reach, ingenuity does. We get there with our Italian roots, sometimes we get there first with strategies, we try to be much more empathetic because we like to get to know the players, get to know their families, try to achieve that something that often can’t be achieved with money alone and therefore by paying more.”
His comments suggest that they are still some way off striking a deal for Curtis Jones, with the Serie A side expecting Liverpool to be a tough negotiator.
Curtis Jones has grown to become an important figure for Liverpool but despite the player consistently speaking about his love for Liverpool and his desire to succeed at his boyhood club, he has become open to the idea of moving away from Merseyside as last season developed.
He has reportedly even spoken to Liverpool teammate Federico Chiesa who arrived at Anfield from Juventus, to get an insight into what life is like in Italy.
From Liverpool’s perspective, there is little indication that the club are looking to part ways with Curtis Jones.
The club will have to keep in mind that with the demands of competing across multiple competitions, squad depth remains crucial and homegrown players carry additional value under registration rules.
That said, Inter Milan announcing their pursuit of Curtis Jones in such a direct way may excite the player as he now understands how strongly the Serie A side are chasing his signature.
