Anthony Gordon reveals Marcus Rashford advice after Barcelona move

Barcelona have already finalised their first summer signing, with Anthony Gordon joining from Newcastle United. A deal for the 25-year-old was concluded very quickly, meaning that he can fully focus on the upcoming 2026 World Cup with England.

After appearing for his nation in their 1-0 victory over New Zealand on Saturday, Gordon spoke to talkSPORT (via [MD](https://www.mundodeportivo.com/futbol/fc-barcelona/20260607/1004192359/consejos-rashford-gordon-fichar-barca.html)) on a whirlwind couple of weeks in his life. He spoke on his excitement at having joined the Catalans, whom he wants to achieve a lot of success with.

“It has been an intense two weeks, but the best I have experienced for me and my family. It’s been great because from a very young age I told them, in my interview, that I would get to this point. I’m not satisfied with playing only for Barcelona. I want to win everything. This is where my career starts, in my opinion. So I’m at the stage where I always said I would be. Now I need to take the next step.”

Gordon also revealed that England teammate Marcus Rashford, who spent the 2025-26 season on loan at Barcelona, gave him some advice for the next stage of his career.

“He told me how good the boys are, the team spirit they have, something I had already heard from the people at Barça. So I really wanted to join them. He also told me about the city and best place to live. He’s a lovely guy, very attentive. He’s just given me a little bit of information.”
