Seahawks' Cooper Kupp gives definitive answer on retirement

Cooper Kupp got to go back home last offseason when he joined the Seattle Seahawks.

The storybook narrative continued through the end of the season, when Seattle won the Super Bowl.

For his first NFL season away from the Rams, it was certainly a special one for Kupp. It actually had some wondering if it'd be time for him to ride off into the sunset.

But no, Kupp didn't consider retirement at all.

"No, never for a second," Kupp told reporters on Thursday. "I'm loving playing this game too much. I love playing football, so I'm enjoying it. That was never a thought."

Kupp will turn 33 years old on June 15. He has now won two Super Bowls, including one with the Rams.

He finished the 2025 regular season with 47 catches for 593 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Kupp caught a touchdown in the NFC title game, against the Rams.

Now, he's part of a Seattle roster that's figuring out what it might be able to do for an encore.

"There's moments of understanding when you see these banners, there's a story and a lot of blood, sweat and tears behind each of them," Kupp said. "So, there's a respect for what went into those things and what those stand for, and the journey that they stand for, the hardships that were overcome. But also, at the end of that moment of reflection is the period at the end that says, 'Well, now what?' Yeah, that's what it took. This is what that was and now you're in it and you're moving forward, and there's an opportunity to go and be a part of another one."

Some players are ready for their careers to be over. Kupp doesn't sound like he's even close.
